Our architects spend a significant amount of time researching and developing designs and delivery techniques; they strive to be thought leaders in their field and do make regular contributions to various Publications, Research, and Industry Summits. As a company, our focus is on inspiring and advancing state-of-the-art school design in Australia.

We care deeply about serving the end-user and business case in the first instance. And, whether we are working on a limited budget, state significant design, or roll-out type project, we understand that achieving optimal outcome requires a high level of communication, accountability, and flexibility from every parts of the process; from the design team, to later governance and compliance.

Our Capability

Our team of 13 architects is small but nimble. We are based in Sydney, and are registered to work in every Australian state. We do travel extensively regionally and across Australia for our clients, with 45 flights booked last financial year alone. Our core services include:

We know the SFS, EFSG, ABW, and various other design standards well. We also maintain “Working with Children” clearances, the highest level of Quality Assurance Certification to ISO9001, ISO14001, AS4801, and are pre-qualified under the following Schemes:

  • SCM0801 - Government Architect's Strategy & Design Excellence

  • SCM1191 - Prequalification Scheme for Consultants in Construction

Wentworth Point Public School

The brand new Wentworth Point Public School is to open its doors to 400 students from Kindergarten to Year 6 in term 1 of 2018. CM+A have provided architectural services to successfully deliver 14 home bases, special education classrooms, a hall and library surrounded by covered outdoor learning areas. All spaces feature flexible learning principles to support the 21st century evidence-based teaching practices.

Artarmon Public School

After the successful completion of Harbord Public School, CM+A are continuing to deliver state of the art educational project with Artarmon Public School being our latest commission.

A much anticipated extension of the school is nearing completion providing 24 future focused teaching spaces and a new library.

The 3 storey homebase building provides enclosure for a landscaped courtyard from Barton Road which creates an atmosphere of security. The new hall, scheduled to be finished in mid-2018, will provide a link between the McMillan & Abbott Road Campuses and create more functional play spaces.

Mowbray Public School

The project involved the demolition of several single storey buildings to create space for the new three storey buildings, accommodating teaching and learning spaces as well as a library, office and administration areas.

The project also involved the refurbishment of the existing hall to provide a new canteen, amenities facilities and new external play spaces.

 

Fort Street High School

The upgrade of Fort Street High School included construction of a new building for Administration, Staff facilities, General Learning areas and Music and Drama Workshops. CM+A completed design development and documentation based on a Department of Commerce design.

Harbord Public School

To replace most of the schools demountable classrooms, CM+A have been engaged to assist with the construction of a new 3 level, 18 classroom building including library.

The $13.5 million upgrade has delivered a required expansion and provided flexible spaces so students can enjoy learning in different environments. Furniture for 21st century learning
has been utilised throughout the project creating interiors responding to the individual needs of every educator & pupil.
