Charles graduated architecture from the Illinois Institute of Technology, in Chicago, known for its Bauhaus teaching philosophy and expertise in tall building construction. In 2013 he was appointed Director at CM+A, and became Managing Director and owner in 2016.

He is a chartered architect, A+ member of the Australian Institute of Architects, and regularly contributes his time to different groups and associations, including presenting and tutoring the Practice of Architecture Learning Series (PALS) for the Australia Institute of Architects.

Charles oversees the delivery of between 30 and 40 projects a year, many of them Design & Construct. He has developed a wide range of architectural experience in the areas of: mixed-use residential, commercial, complex industrial, high density data centres, schools, aged care and community housing, Government and infrastructure related projects.

As a designer Charles strives to create spaces that are functional and timeless, spaces that inspire people to do great work, and think great ideas; spaces that are symbolic and that make a profound statement about their users.

Working alongside builders and property professionals Charles has acquired a unique understanding of the property development process, and of the mitigation of its associated risks which include: Political, Financial, Market, and Execution risks.

Katrin is a chartered architect, with experience in delivering high quality living/user environments from concept to completion.

A key component of Katrin’s work is refining the design brief and preserving its design intent during construction through careful attention to detail, consultant’s coordination, and contract administration.

David joined the Collard Group in 1992.  Since then he has developed considerable experience in architectural documentation and has contributed significantly to the company’s documentation output. In 2016 David was appointed Senior Associate at CM+A

David has developed significant expertise in documentation and compliance. He is comfortable with the various codes and standards, including  the Building Code of Australia, Australian Standards, School Facilities Standards now the EFSG.

David plays an important role in quality management, CAD management and maintenance of the computer network system for the practice, and most importantly mentoring.

Javier graduated architecture from Universitat Politecnica de Valencia in 2012 and completed a Master’s Thesis in Project Management at the University of New South Wales in 2015.

Javier has a unique understanding and appreciation of contemporary architecture from training in Spain and Czech Republic.  He also brings expert knowledge of sustainable architecture, which was the topic of his Master's Thesis titled: "Multi-criteria Evaluation in the Construction Process".

Javier's design philosophy is to study spacial relationships and find the right contrast/balance that will achieve the desired outcome of a specific design brief.

Ross Maxwell graduated in architecture from the University of Technology in 1974.  In 1984 he was appointed a director of Collard Clarke & Jackson. In 2016 he assumed the role of non-executive Technical Director with CM+A.

He is a member of the Australian Institute of Architects Practice Committee and has been the AIA representative on the Building Regulations Advisory Council (BRAC) for the past 20 years. Ross was the inaugural convenor of the Australian Institute of Architects National Access Work Group and is now an associate member of the Association of Consultants in Access Australia.

He has a wide range of architectural experiences in education, health, residential, specialised industrial, research and commercial developments providing full architectural services including project and construction management.

He believes strongly in the team approach to problem solving and has worked as principal consultant/project manager for multi-disciplinary teams in a number of unique and complex projects.

Ross has experience in multi-unit residential, specialised industrial, community buildings, health clinics and building upgrades.

Ross develops an understanding of clients’ needs and has considerable experience forming a working relationship with both the principal and the builder to deliver a mutually satisfactory outcome.
