Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat.

Charles has been with CM+A since 2012 and was appointed Director in 2013.

He earned his professional degree in architecture from the Illinois Institute of Technology, in Chicago, an institution known for its technical expertise in the design and engineering of tall buildings and complex construction projects of all types and sizes. The school of architecture, founded by famous Bauhaus architect Mies van Der Rohe, is especially known for its contribution to the Chicago skyline and its “Less is More” modern design philosophy.

As the Nominated Executive Architect for CM+A, Charles has reviewed and improved hundreds of designs for builders and developers. He has also, as a result, developed a keen eye for identifying design risks and value management opportunities early in the process. So, his unique ability to manage technically challenging projects and to understand context and your business case all at once, has made him the ideal architect for the design and delivery of Mission Critical infrastructure projects such as Data Centres.

Relevant Experience

Working alongside builders and property professionals, Charles has acquired a unique understanding of the property development process and mitigation of its associated risks, which include: Political, Financial, Market, Execution, and Reputational risks.

As a designer, Charles strives to create spaces that are functional and timeless; spaces that inspire people to do great work, and think great ideas; spaces that not only meet your business case requirements, but that are also symbolic, making a profound statement about their occupants.
