Relevant Expertise

Charles began his professional journey as a carpenter apprentice, and has practiced architecture for nearly 30 years.

He is Australian/Canadian citizen, and holds one of only 54 APEC ARCHITECT International Licenses, which allows for the cross-border practice in 14 economies. These include: Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Malaysia, South Korea, Philippines, Thailand, China, Canada, Mexico, and the United States of America.

He earned his second degree in architecture from the Illinois Institute of Technology, a Chicago institution renowned for its technical expertise in the design and engineering of tall buildings and complex construction projects. The school of architecture, founded by famous Bauhaus architect Mies van Der Rohe, is known for its contribution to the Chicago skyline, and for its minimalist yet meaningful design philosophy.

Over the past 12 years, Charles has focussed extensively on specialized and fast-track datacenters. During this time, he helped deliver and peer review dozens of designs and constructions, while also contributing time and thought leadership to industry events and publications. His efforts have been recognized with awards such as the “Sustainability Initiative of the Year for Pacific Islands Data Centres”, “MBA Excellence in Housing”, and “UDIA NSW Excellence in Affordable Housing.”

Strategic Alliance

As the Nominated Executive Architect for CM+A, Charles works directly with CEOs in leading teams of highly skilled architects and specialist engineers. This role has allowed him to review and improve hundreds of technically complex designs of all types, and to develop a sharp eye for identifying risks, cost-saving measures, and fast-track opportunities. His mission is to keep all specialists aligned with your project’s goals, and to ensure that your business case remains at the center of the process, not getting lost in complexity.
